I wish all "wannbe" cartographers good luck, take advantage of the shing jea boardwalk games, that allows u to uncover 0.5% extra on shing jea island if u are non-canthan.

This led me to my legendary cartographer title, i think i wont repeat this title on another character

Can anyone re-upload Leighwyn's map again?

I'm especially interested in Leighwyn's because he worked towards MORE than 100% (or actually a REAL 100% map). So the chance of any spots missing on BOTH maps should be very low.

Alright ive been trying and trying to finish my map I have 92.5% if any one could give me tips or point me on ther right direction to complete this map ill be forever gratfull.

Hello, I have been stuck on Cantha at 98.1% for a very long time now, so if someone could please help me it'd be much appreciated. This is at the highest resolution.

Default I got my title today

I got my Tyrian 100% title today. Did it without any PVP areas. I used IRfanView to examine maps and used the hints here as well as the hints on Wiki. The key is that map comparison. Use that and you won't need any other help(except reading the hints in the forums). No question it was a lot of work. Had to repeat some missions many times. Never got around to the necrotic transversal in Frost Gate. There is really quite a bit of leeway.

Default need some help on my map

I need some assistance, I am currently at 98.3%, and I've used photoshop (most of the time I can't really tell whats unexplored because it's rather blurry) as well as rapidly switching the maps back and forth. Please point out the unexplored areas, all help is appreciated. Thanks!

Hi,
I've finished Tyria and Cantha, but Elona is throwing me for a loop. I'm at 99.1% and just can't find the rest. I gave up a few months ago just because of a lack of time and sanity. I saw people were helping here and all of a sudden have hope I can get it If someone could help me figure out where the last big is I'd be ever so appreciative. Good luck everyone!

I've also got a problem... I'm at 96.8% (or .9, w/e) of Cantha, and I can't find the last bits... or a complete Canthan map for the matter.
If anyone has the time, please look into this and pinpoint where I still need to go, it'd be deeply appreciated!
A link to someone's 100% Cantha explored map would also be of help.

Default New 100% Map for Tyria

Can some pls Post a new 100% map for Tyria.. as ANet, in their wisdom, have decided to change the 'Map- ghosting' effect just as I’m at 98.7%...
Making it V hard for me to use the PaintShop swapping technique.... grrr..

Download AviSynth, VirtualDub, TexMod, and the Mapping Mod made by Tiyuri.

Make a text script titled "whateveryouwant.avs" and in it, put this text:

(text start; do not put this in)

a = ImageSource("insert location and full name of 100% map here",end=0).Subtitle("baseline")

b = ImageSource("insert location and full name of non-100% map here",end=0)

c = overlay(b,a,mode="difference")

a + b + c

(text end; do not put this in)

Run Guild Wars with the mapping mod and take a 1024 screenshot of your map. Run VirtualDub and load the avs file and go through the 3 screenshots and find your missing areas.

The concept is this...

You create as clean a screenshot as you can and compare it to a 100% screenshot made using the same process.

Using VirtualDub allows you to flip back and forth ALOT faster than any other program out there PLUS it allows a comparison to be made. Anything that shows up in a light blue/white color, in the third frame, is an area that has a discrepancy. You can then focus your eyes on that spot and go back to the two prior frames to determine if it's on the 100% map or yours.

Further, as you progress clearing areas, all you need to do is make a new screenshot and replace the file location in the avs file and hit F5 in VirtualDub to refresh the file load.

Quick and painless.

VirtualDub is the program used to do the comparison and picture viewing.

AviSynth is used to install the scripting language for the text file loaded into VirtualDub.

TexMod and the Mod is used to create the best screenshot possible.

If anyone finds spots that THEY have uncovered but I don't, please let me know.

CURRENT AREAS NOT CONCERNED WITH: The areas you reach by being banished by Shiro and the area you reach by Necrotic Traversal when Evennia dies by poison.

Great info, can't wait to try it (been using Zweistein's cartography mods so far but this looks like it could be better).

Since I started my cartography title in Nightfall, do you have a similar map for Elona?

Tried it tonight with my Cantha map (only 70-ish percent) and it's very cool, very easy to see what is left to unconver.

Do you mind posting your partial elona map? I want to see how well i've been doing scraping so far!

I just got Tyrian for my second time. Its a terrible pain in the neck. But, last time, I suspected there was some leeway. This time I was extra careful with all areas. I got everything but left Dragons Gullet completely unentered and fogged. I was at 99.7 when I entered it tonight. After circling left about 1/3 of the way, I was at 100%. Look how much area is left unfogged (outline in blue). That must be a full 1 percent extra.



Response to Woop Shotty: I think normally you have a lot of little spots that add up, so it seems like its just a little spot somewhere. The trick is to be super careful. Slowly but surely. Don't miss a zig where you should have zagged. Also, this obviously contains no arena areas, since I did it recently. I was obviously too careful, but the thought of ending with 99.9% and not knowing where the .1% is was too much to bear.

I find that funny. Later on I'll be figuring out what spot of my Canthan map I'm missing, but I know that the last percent is going to be a tiny spot, unlike what you have there. That's Cantha for you!
